Hans [Georg] Güttlein, a miller (Müller), his wife Margaretha, and children (Johann, age 16½; Heinrich, age 13; Maria, age 6) arrived from Reval [Estonia] at the port of Oranienbaum on 31 May 1766 aboard the pink Slon under the command of Lieutenant Sergey Panov.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Hildmann on 14 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 6.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Hans [Georg] Gütlein came from the German region of Mainz. The 1767 census records that he came from the German village of Alt-Hofheim.
