Johann Simon Weiss [sic], a single truck farmer (Gärtner), arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 11 August 1766 aboard the Russian galliot named Citadel under the command of Midshipman Gregory Bukharin.
Simon Weiss is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
He settled in the Volga German colony of Frank on 1 September 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 87 along with his [new] wife Anna Eleonora.
