Nikolaus Maurer, a miller, his wife Anna Christina, and children (Johann Peter, age 22; Anna Maria, age 20 Julianna, age 18; Philipp, age 16; Johann Georg, age 9½; Johann Nikolaus, age 4) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard the snow-brig Die Frau Dietrika under the command of Skipper Joachim Friedrich Luhn.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Hussenbach. Son Philipp is recorded there on the 1798 census in Household No. Hs085.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that the Maurer family came from the German region of Zweibrücken.
