Kaspar Nöll, a farmer, his wife Anna, daughter Elisabeth (age 4), mother-in-law Rosina [surname not recorded], and wife's sister Elisabeth [surname not recorded] (age 22) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 June 1766 aboard the 2-masted merchant ship named Anna Katharina under the command of Skipper Adolph Scharpenberg.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Straub on 12 May 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 20.
Johannes Nöll and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Straub in Household No. Sr11.
The death of Georg Samuel Nöll in 1830 is recorded on the 1834 census of Straub in Household No. 80.
Johann Wilhelm Nöll, son of Georg Samuel Nöll, and his family are recorded on the 1850 census of Straub in Household No. 97.
Johann Wilhelm Nöll and his family are recorded on the 1857 census of Straub in Household No. 118.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Kaspar Mehl came from the German region of Weilburg. The 1767 census records that Kaspar Nöll came from the German village of Großrechtenbach in the Nassau-Weilburg region.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Mehl family among the Volga German colonies.
