Heinrich Orscheid and his wife Anna arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 18 June 1766 aboard the ship Die Jungfer Friederika under the command of Skipper Christian Korsholm.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Straub on 12 May 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 12 along with their newborn son Johann Nikolaus (age ½).
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Heinrich Orscheid was a farmer while the 1767 census records that he was a miner (Bergmann).
The 1767 census records that Heinrich Orscheid came from the German village of Marienfels in the Kurpfalz region.
