Daniel Peterson, a farmer, and his wife Anna Elisabeth settled in the Volga German colony of Dreispitz on 16 September 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 23.

The 1767 census records that Daniel Peterson came from the German village of Mark [?] in the Holstein region.
