Nikolaus Rupp married on 27 November 1753 in St. Vitus Catholic Church in Oberhöchstadt to Maria Elisabetha Lang.
The parish register of St. Vitus Catholic Church in Oberhöchstadt records the baptisms of the following children born to Nikolaus Rupp & Maria Elisabetha Lang: (1) Anna Elisabetha, born about 1756, died 25 February 1762; (2) Maria Barbara, born 8 December 1758, died 25 February 1762; (3) Konrad, baptized 2 October 1761; and (4) Johannes, baptized 28 February 1765.
Nikolaus Rupp, a farmer, his wife Elisabeth, and son Konrad (age 5¼) arrived from Lübeck via Reval [Estonia] at the port of Oranienbaum on 27 May 1766 aboard a pinque named Слон (Slon - Elephant in Russian) under the command of Lieutenant Sergey Panov.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Leitsinger on 12 May 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 9.
Following the destruction of Leitsinger in 1774, the surviving Rupp family settled in Neu-Kolonie.
Anna Maria Rudel née Rupp, presumed daughter of Nikolaus Rupp, and her husband are recorded on the 1798 census of Neu-Kolonie in Household No. Nk28.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Nikolaus Rupp came from the German region of Mainz. The 1767 census records that Nikolaus Russ [sic] came from the German village of Oberhöchstadt in the Kurmainz region.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Rupp family among the Volga German colonies.
