Discussion & Documentation

Johann Heinrich Becker & Anna Elies. Sinner, both from Fischborn, were married on 19 April 1766 in the Lutheran Church of Büdingen.

Heinrich Becker, a farmer, his wife Elisabeth, and brother Georg (age 21) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 August 1766 aboard the pink Slon under the command of Lieutenant Sergey Panov.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Balzer on 8 August 1767. Heinrich Becker, his new wife Wilhelmina (the widow of Konrad Junker), and brother Johann Georg are recorded on the 1767 census of Balzer in Household No. 103 along with the surviving Junker children (Elisabeth, age 18; Johann Heinrich, age 16).

Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Heinrich Becker came from the German region of Isenburg.
