Discussion & Documentation

Dietrich Ulrich, a farmer, and his wife Maria arrived from Lübeck via Reval [Estonia] at the port of Oranienbaum on 24 May 1766 aboard a pinque named Лапоминк (Lapomink - a Russian river) under the command of Lieutenant Dmitry Krykov.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Keller on 12 May 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 45 along with newborn son Johann.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Dietrich Ulrich came from the German region of Mainz. The 1767 census records that Dietrich Ulrich came from the German village of Kolheim [Göllheim?] in the Kurmainz region.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Ulrich family among the Volga German colonies.
