Widower Andreas Walwetz, a craftsman (Handwerker), settled in the Volga German colony of Dreispitz on 16 September 1766. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 26 along with a note that he is living with the Christian Wilhelm family.

The 1767 census records that Andreas Walwetz came from the German town of Magdeburg in the Brandenburg region.
