Franz Himmel, a farmer, and his wife Maria arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 28 August 1766 aboard the ship Der Junge Heinrich under the command of Skipper Heinrich Niemann.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Ober-Monjou on 23 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 13.
The 1767 census records that Franz Himmel came from the German village of Rastatt.
