An article by Hermann Wäschke records the following:
Christian [sic] Grosse, with wife and 6 children, from Kochstedt in the district of Dessau.
Christoph Gross, a farmer, his wife Johanna, and children (Christoph, age 14; Andreas, age 11; Louisa, age 5) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 10 August 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Nikolaus Peter Pink.
Christoph Gross, his wife Johanna, and children (Christoph, age 12; Louissa, age 10; Andreas, age 5) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Susannental on 3 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 24.
The 1798 census (Ss13) records that son Andreas is blind and living with relatives in the colony of Boisroux.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Christoph Gross came from the German region of Dessau. The 1767 census records that he came from the German village of Kochstedt.
