Johann Schmidt, a farmer, and his wife Anna Dorothea arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 29 July 1766 aboard a ship named Apollo under the command of Skipper Friedrich Detloff Mörenberg.
Johann Schmidt (age 25), a farmer, and his [new] wife Elisabeth [Sternagel] (age 20) are recorded on the 1767 census of Kraft in Household No. 46 along with her father Martin Sternagel (age 50). [See Sternagel Family.] They had arrived in Kraft on 18 August 1767.
Johannes Schmidt (age 29) and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Kraft in Household No. Kf43 along with his mother Elisabeth Katharina [surname not recorded] (age 52), and siblings (Georg Adam, age 20; Katharina, age 17). A note accompanying the 1798 census records that his mother Elisabeth Katharina is in Stephan working for the pastor and his brother Georg Adam is in Astrakhan.
Johannes Schmidt, and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Kraft in Household No. 116 along with a note that brother Georg Adam Schmidt had moved to an unnamed colony in 1826.
Johann Jost Schmidt, presumed son of Johannes Schmidt, and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Kraft in Household No. Kf51.

Konrad Schmidt, presumed son of Johannes Schmidt, and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Kraft in Household No. Kf54.
Konrad Schmidt and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Kraft in Household No. 109 along with a note that his son Johann Christoph Schmidt had moved to the colony of Holstein.
Peter Schmidt, son of Johannes Schmidt, and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Kraft in Household No. 33.
Johann Konrad Schmidt, son of Johannes Schmidt, and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Kraft in Household No. 72.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Schmidt came from the German region of Darmstadt while the 1767 census records that he came from the German village of Kirchdorf [perhaps Kirtorf].
[There are not many match points for this Johann Schmidt, but this one arrived in Oranienbaum aboard the same ship as Elisabeth Sternagel.]
