Discussion & Documentation

Georg Heinrich Rieger, a single man, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 29 July 1766 aboard the ship Apollo under the command of Skipper Friedrich Detloff Mörenberg.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Kraft on 18 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 69.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Georg Heinrich Rieger was a miller from the German region of Hannover while the 1767 census records that he was a farmer from the German village of Harber in the Hannover region.
