Johann[es] Hamm, a single man, and his brother Johann (age 18) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 12 September 1766 aboard the English frigate Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas.
Joh. Hamm and his brother Joh. Philip (age 18) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
Johannes Hamm is recorded on a supplement to the 1767 census of Kaneau in Household No. 17 along with his new wife Katharina.
Johannes Hamm is recorded on the 1798 census of Schönchen in Household No. Sn31.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Hamm was a farmer from the German village of Bassenheim. The 1767 census records that he was a mason (Maurer) from the German village of Bassenheim.
