Georg Niklas, a farmer, and his wife [Maria] Eva arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the ship Die Neue Freiheit von Bremen under the command of Skipper Steingrawer.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Preuss on 15 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 74.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Georg Niklas came from the German region of Zweibrücken. The 1767 census records that Georg Niklas came from the German village of Oberhausen in the Kurpfalz region.
