Lorenz Bender, his wife Anna, and children (Georg, age 18; Johann, age 15½) arrived from Reval [Estonia] on 30 May 1766 aboard the pink Novaya Dvinka under the command of Lieutenant Ivan Perepechin.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Frank in 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 3.

Widower Lorenz Bender is recorded on the 1798 census of Frank in Household No. Fk023.

The death of Lorenz Bender in 1805 is recorded on the 1811 census of Frank in Household No. 23.

Lorenz Bender, son of Lorenz Bender, and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Frank in Household No. 128.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Lorenz Bender was a farmer from the German region of Nassau. The 1767 census records that he was a craftsman (Handwerker) from the German village of Rambach in the Nassau region.
