Peter Schipper arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 28 August 1766 aboard the ship Der Junge Heinrich under the command of Skipper Heinrich Niemann.
Where this Peter Schipper is recorded on the 1767 census is unknown at this time.
Peter Schipper, a farmer, his wife Maria Katharina née Klein, and children (Johann, age 6; Lorenz, age 1½) are recorded on the 1776 Katharinenstadt Grundbuch [Land Register] in Household No. 90 along with a note that an additional son Johann Wilhelm Gottlieb was born in 1777.
Johann Schipper, presumed son of Peter Schipper, and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. Ka094.
The 1776 Katharinenstadt Land Register records that Peter Schipper came from Amsterdam and that his wife came from the German village of Dittenburg in the Nassau region.
There are no known surviving members of this Peter Schipper family among the Volga German colonies.
