Edmund Büge, a single tailor (Schneider), arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 28 August 1766 aboard the ship Der Junge Heinrich under the command of Skipper Heinrich Niemann.
He settled in the Volga German colony of Kartharinenstadt on 17 August 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 188.
Edmund Büge (age 36), a tailor (Schneider), and his wife Maria Eva née Rederich [Rettiger] (age 24) are recorded on the 1776 Katharinenstadt Grundbuch [Land Register] in Household No. 53 along with a note that their daughter Anna Maria Elisabeth Joseph [?] was born 6 April 1776 and that Edmund Büge died 8 October 1776.
Both the 1767 census and the 1776 Katharinenstadt Land Register record that Edmund Büge came from the German village of Hilbersheim. The 1776 Katharinenstadt Land Register also records that Maria Eva née Rederich came from the German village of Lohr in the region of Mainz.
There are no surviving male descendants of this Büge family among the Volga German colonies.
