Mathæus Ickes & Anna Maria Schädler were married on 16 April 1766 in the Lutheran Church of Büdingen.
Anton [Mattias] Ickes, a farmer, and his wife Anna Maria arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 August 1766 aboard the Russian galliot Strelna under the command of Lieutenant Sornev.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Pfeifer on 20 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 60.
The 1767 census records that Anton [Mattias] Ickes came from the German village of Wernborn bei Usingen.
