Gottlieb Holzhausen, a single miller (Müller), arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 20 August 1766 aboard a ship named Der Friede (Peace) under the command of Skipper Hans Karck.
Gottlieb Holtzhausen is recorded on a list of colonist being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
He arrived in the Volga German colony of Boisroux on 3 August 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 36.
In 1797, Karl Holzhausen moved from Boisroux to Saratov.
Gottlieb Holzhausen and his family are recorded on an 1865 list of colonists who resettled to Lilienfeld along with a note that they had arrived in Lilienfeld from Boisroux on 30 March 1859.
The 1767 census records that Johann Gottlieb Holzhausen came from the German village of Schmiedenburg [Schmiedeberg].
