Wilhelm Zimmer and his wife Katharina arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the galliot named Kronshlot under the command of Skipper Ivan Kunakovskii.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Brabander on 26 June 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 91 along with Katharina's orphaned brother Johann Eberhardt (age 16) and orphan Katharina Braun (age 16) whose parents died on the transport to the Volga. The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Zimmer and Braun families.
Descendants of Wilhelm Zimmer are recorded on the 1834 census of Brabander in Household No. 3.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Wilhelm Zimmer was a farmer from France. The 1767 census records that he was a saddle maker (Sattler) from the German village of Kleingöttingen near Jonville in France.
