Widower Ignatius Wittmann, a craftsman (Handwerker), settled in the Volga German colony of Schwed on 1 July 1766. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 16.
The 1767 census records that Ignatius Wittmann came from the German town of Berlin in Brandenburg.
