Discussion & Documentation

Andreas Müller and Elisabeth Vogel were married on 10 October 1765 in St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Lübeck.

Andreas Müller, a weaver (Weber), his wife Elisabeth, and son Johannes Mattias (age 1) are recorded on the 1767 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. 34. They had settled there on 27 August 1766.

Lambert Gors (age 29), a fischerman (Fischer), and his wife Elisabeth née Vogel (widow Müller) (age 35), and step-sons (Mattias Müller, age 7½; Christian Müller, age 6) are recorded on the 1776 Katharinenstadt Grundbuch [Land Register] in Household No. 38 along with a note that Christian Müller died in 1777. [See Gors Family.]

Mattias Müller and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. Ka041.

The death of Mattias Müller in 1823 is recorded on the 1834 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. 214.

The 1767 census records that Andreas Müller came from the German village of Almerschlach in the Würzburg region. The 1776 Katharinenstadt Land Register records that Elisabeth née Vogel came from the German village of Gross Umstadt in the Hessen-Darmstadt region.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Müller family among the Volga German colonies.
