Hieronimus Pohl and Johanna Maria Sophia Berckler were married on 24 October 1765 in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lübeck.

Hironimus Pohl, a tailor (Schneider), his wife Johann Maria Bakler, and son Johann (age 9-months) are recorded on the 1767 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. 70. They had settled there on 27 August 1766.

The 1767 census records that Hironimus Pohl came from the German region of Hanau.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
