Discussion & Documentation

Heinrich Ludwig Weigel, a goldsmith (Goldschmied), and his wife Anna Pastern are recorded on the 1767 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. 120. They had settled there on 1 March 1767.

The 1767 census records that Heinrich Ludwig Weigel came from the German town of Leipzig in Sachsen (Saxony).

There are no known surviving male lines of this Weigel family among the Volga German colonies.
