Jakob Mehling, a farmer, and his wife Anna settled in the Volga German colony of Walter on 25 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 49.
The 1767 census records that Jakob Mehling came from the German village of Boleig [?] in the Durlach region.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Mehling family among the Volga German colonies.
