Daniel Rausch, his wife Elisabeth, and daughter Katharina (age 10) are recorded on the 1798 census of Stahl am Karaman in Household No. 29. They had settled there on 10 June 1767.
The 1767 census records that Daniel Rausch came from the German village of Paterburg [Petersburg?] in the Hanau region.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Rausch family among the Volga German colonies.
