Discussion & Documentation

Maria Margaretha Naft, widow of Christian Naft, settled in the Volga German colony of Kratzke on 7 August 1766. She is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 13 along with a note that she is working as a day-laborer in Saratov.

The 1767 census records that Maria Margaretha Naft came from the Danish village of Segeberg.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Naft family among the Volga German colonies.
