History
Shirokaya was founded in 1723 on land belonging to Naryshkin, from which it passed to Prince Kochubei. It is located on the Karamysh River and today is called Shirokii Karamysh.
Because of its proximity to the Volga German colonies, many Volga German families lived there through the years.
