Daniel Hergert, a farmer, his wife Maria Elisabeth, and daughter Maria Elisabeth (age 18) settled in the Volga German colony of Dönhof on 18 June 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 106.

The 1767 census records that Daniel Hergert came from the German region of Zweibrücken.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Hergert family among the Volga German colonies.
