Discussion & Documentation

Johann Lohr, a physician (Arzt), and his wife Anna arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 3 August 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Nikolaus Peter Pink.

Joh. Gottl. Lohr and his wife Anna Maria are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Johann Gottlieb Zose, a physician (Arzt), and his wife Maria are recorded on the 1767 census of Boisroux in Household No. 46 along with orphan Johann Brando (age 13). The 1767 census does not record a relationship between the Zose and Brando families. They had settled in Boisroux on 3 August 1767.

In 1772, Gottlieb Lohr and his wife moved from Boisroux to Philippsfeld.

Gottlieb Lohr (age 71) from Boisroux is recorded on the 1798 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. Ka029.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Lohr came from the German region of Schwarzburg. The 1767 census records that Johann Gottlieb Lohr came from the German village of Silkerode.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Lohr family among the Volga German colonies.
