Franz Bartazeie, a single merchant (Kaufmann), settled in the Volga German colony of Schulz on 8 September 1766. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 19 along with a note that he relocated to Saratov in 1768.
The 1767 census records that Franz Bartazeie came from the German region of Hessen-Kassel.
