Jakob Degenau [sic], a farmer, his wife Maria, and son Johann (age 17¼) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 June 1766 aboard an English frigate named Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.
Jakob Degeneau, a craftsman (Handwerker), his wife Maria Elisabeth, and son Johannes (age 20) are recorded on the 1767 census of Moor in Household No. 52. They had settled there on 18 June 1767.
Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Jakob Degeneau came from the German region of Isenburg.
