Jakob Bauer, a farmer, his wife Anna, and children (Maria, age 16; Johann, age 3) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 21 July 1766 aboard a koff named Alette under the command of Skipper Wybe Hendricks.
Jakob Bauer, a cooper (Böttcher), his wife Anna Maria, and daughter Anna Katharina (age 16) are recorded on the 1767 census of Dehler in Household No. 21. They had settled there on 26 July 1767.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Jakob Bauer came from the German region of Mainz. The 1767 census records that Jakob Bauer came from the German village of Neustadt in the Kurmainz region.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Bauer family among the Volga German colonies.
