Johannes Luit, a weaver (Weber), his wife Maria, and daughters (Christina, age 8; Magdalena, age 9-months) are recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Beauregard in Household No. 66 along with a note that they relocated to the colony of Basel in 1768.

The 1767 census records that Johannes Luit came from the German village of Hagengen [?].
