Christian Gottfried Koch, a farmer, and his wife Juliana settled in the Volga German colony of Beauregard on 27 August 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 35.

The 1767 census records that Christian Gottfried Koch came from the German village of Kosswig.
