Johann Hoffmann, a farmer, and his wife Anna arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 2 August 1766 aboard an English frigate named Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.
Joh. Hoffmann and his wife Anna Maria are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
Johannes Hoffmann, a farmer, and his wife Anna settled in the Volga German colony of Bettinger on 3 August 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 15.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Hoffmann came from the German region of Hessen. The 1767 census records that Johannes Hoffmann came from the German village of Auschenberg [Rauschenberg?] in the Hessen region.
