Andreas Markus [sic], a farmer, his wife Katharina, and children (Ludwig, age 8; Katharina, age 2½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 2 August 1766 aboard an English frigate named Love & Unity under the command of Skipper Thomas Fairfax.
Andreas Marx, a farmer, his wife Katharina, and son Ludwig (age 8) are recorded on the 1767 census of Bettinger in Household No. 17. They had arrived there on 3 August 1767.
Ludwig Marx and his wife are recorded on the 1798 census of Bettinger in Household No. Bt15.
The 1767 census records that Andreas Marx came from the German region of Darmstadt.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Marx family among the Volga German colonies.
