Discussion & Documentation

Johann Preuss, a single tailor (Schneider), settled in the Volga German colony of Köhler on 10 August 1767. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household no. 25 along with a note that he is working as a day laborer (Lohnarbeiter).

The 1767 census records that Johann Preuss came from the German region of Worms.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Preuss family among the Volga German colonies.
