Discussion & Documentation

Johann Döring & Maria Catharina Müller were married on 23 June 1766 in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Lübeck. This is believed to be the same Johann Döring who settled in the colony of Köhler.

Johann Döring, a farmer, his wife Margaretha Heil, and daughter Katharina (age 1½) are recorded on the 1767 census of Köhler in Household No. 19. They had settled there on 10 August 1767.

The 1767 census records that Johann Döring came from the German region of Fulda.
