Johann[es] Heister [sic], a farmer, his wife Anna, daughter Anna (age ½), and mother-in-law Anna [surname not recorded] arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 18 June 1766 aboard the hooker Anna Katharina under the command of Skipper Adolph Scharpenberg.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Keller on 12 May 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 14. A note recorded on the 1767 census in Household No. 75 seems to indicate that Johannes Heisser's wife's maiden name may be Walter.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann[es] Heister [sic] came from the German region of Pfalz. The 1767 census records that Johannes Heisser [sic] came from the German village of Kaiserslautern.
