Discussion & Documentation

Gottfried Kreptz [sic], his wife Elisabeth, and [step-]sons (Christian [Friehof], age 12; Gottfried [Friehof], age 10¼) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a ship named Die Zwei Gebrüder (The Two Brothers) under the command of Skipper Nicolaus Peter Pinck.

Gottfried Krebes [sic], his wife Elisabeth, and [step-]sons (Christian [Friehof], age 12; Gottfriedt, age 10½) are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that Elisabeth died in route.

Gottfried Krebst, a baker (Bäcker), his [new] wife Katharina, and stepsons (Christian Friehof, age 13; Gottfried Friehof, age 11) are recorded on the 1767 census of Kaneau in Household No. 47 along with a note that they relocated to the colony of Basel in 1768. They had arrived in Kaneau on 3 August 1767.

The 1767 census does not record from where the Friehof brothers came.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Friehof family came.
