Discussion & Documentation

Joh. Christ. Wettermann is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Johann Christian Wettermann, a physician (Arzt), and his wife Henriette settled in the Volga German colony of Kaneau on 3 August 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 28.

[Johann Christian Wettermann, a barber (Friseur), and his wife Henriette are also recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Nieder-Monjou in Household No. 78.]

The 1767 census records that Johann Christian Wettermann came from the town of Copenhagen in Denmark.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
