Valentin Bacherts, a beer brewer (Bierbrauer), his wife Maria, and son Friedrich (age 10) are recorded on the 1767 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. 48. They had settled there on 27 August 1766.

The 1767 census records that Valentin Bacherts came from the German village of Suhl (Henneburg) in the Kurpfalz region.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
