Nikolaus de Rarotier, a perfume maker (Parfümerie), his wife Anna, and her daughters (Anna Maria Cronaguis, age 18; Louisa Cronaguis, age 15) are recorded on the 1767 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. 27. They had settled there on 27 August 1766.
The 1767 census records that Nikolaus Derarotier came from the French region of Champagne.
