Michael Dubois, a lace maker (Spitzenmachermeister), and his wife Louisa Fendel settled in the Volga German colony of Katharinenstadt on 23 July 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 131.
In 1791, Johann Friedrich Dubois [believed to be their son] moved from Katharinenstadt to Rosenheim.
Friedrich Ditti [sic] from Katharinenstadt and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Rosenheim in Household No. Rm48.
Friedrich Ditti [sic] is recorded on the 1811 census of Rosenheim in Household No. 48.
The death of Friedrich Dubois in 1824 is recorded on the 1834 census of Rosenheim in Household No. 59.
The 1767 census records that Michael Dubois came from the French village of Enghein in the Brabant region of Belgium and that Louisa Fendel came from the village of Leuven also in the Brabant region.
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
