Johann Georg Becht, a farmer, his wife Maria Katharina, and children (Elisabeth Margaretha, age 9; Georg Philipp, age 3-weeks) are recorded on the 1767 census of Straub in Household No. 43. They had settled there on 12 July 1767.
The 1767 census records that Johann Georg Becht came from the German village of Grüningen in the Nassau-Usingen region.
