Johann Philipp Lenk [sic], a clerk (Schreiber), and his wife Maria Barbara are recorded on the 1767 census of Straub in Household No. 50. They had settled there on 19 August 1767.

Johann Wilhelm Lung and his brother Georg Heinrich are recorded on the 1798 census of Straub in Household No. Sr11. [This surname is translated as "Mong" on the 1798 census of Straub, but Lung confirmed in later generations.]

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Philipp Lang [sic] came from the German region of Württemberg. The 1767 census records that Johann Philipp Lenk [sic] came from the German village of Fitegen [?] in the Hohenlohe region.
