Christian Mathias Schaumkel was born 28 June 1711. He married on 14 October 1743 to Ilsabe Maria Le Plat.
The births of the following children born to Christian Mathias Schaumkel & Ilsabe Maria Le Plat are recorded in the parish register of Schwerin, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern: (1) Christian Friedrich, born 25 June 1744; and (2) Daniel Wilhelm, born 10 May 1745.
Both of the Schaumkel boys arrived arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 18 July 1766 aboard the Russian packet-boat named Lebed (Swan) under the command of Lieutenant Timofey Yelchin.
(1) Christian Friedrich Schaumkel, a single man, arrived in Oranienbaum.
Christian Friedrich Schaumkel is recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
(2) Daniel Wilhelm Schaumkel, a single notary, arrived in Oranienbaum.
In 1797, Johann Georg Schaumkel moved from Neu-Kolonie to Hölzel.
Johann Georg Schaumkel from Leitsinger is recorded on the 1798 census of Hölzel in Household No. Hz13.
Johann Georg Schaumkinn [sic] is recorded on the 1811 census of Hölzel in Household No. 12.
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
